Festivals, Live Concerts and Farmers Market fill the Orange County Calendar of Events

Lick West Baden, Indiana - Spring is in the air and with the wide range of
events happening in our area, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
If
you are in the mood for Music, the Lawn Chair Concert Series is set to begin in
early May. The first performance will take place in Paoli behind the Public
Library, in front of the Lost River Market May 6 and a follow-up performance
will take place May 20 at the French Lick Resort Hotel Lawn.
Also on May 15th ,
is “Paint the Town”. Rain date is May 22. In the tradition of European 16th
century street painting, individuals, families and artists will turn the
sidewalks of French Lick into pastel works of art. Pre-registration is needed
for participation. Forms are available at the French Lick Town Hall, the Orange
County Convention & Visitors Bureau and their web sites. Pre-registration
deadline is April 26. After this date, only limited participation is available.
Check in will be at 8:30 am at the Market on May 15. The event will be from
9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Kids’ make and
take along crafts will be available that day for walk-ins. Merchants will be displaying SV 1-12
student artwork May 12 – 17 in their windows. This is a juried exhibit with
awards given to the top three in each grade. May 15th is also Armed Forces Day. In honor of
the Armed Forces, the American Legion will be presenting a flag ceremony at
noon at the Market. Soldiers from Fort Knox will be participating.
Come
and celebrate the history and heritage of Patoka Lake and the communities it
once enveloped on May 15. Heritage Days offers Native American and pioneer
crafts, demonstrations and costumed characters, food, music and fun for the
whole family. Orleans will begin its annual Dogwood Festival April 26. It will
run through May 2. This weeklong festival will include arts and crafts, food
vendors, parade, carnival games, musical entertainment and more.
Outlaws
invade the hills of Southern Indiana with re-enactments happening on the train
ride offered by the French Lick Railway beginning April 24 and running
additional dates throughout the remainder of spring and summer. Also beginning
the 8 of May is the Spring Open House & Farmers Market. Welcome spring with
local vendors, live music and farmers market at the Lost River Market and Deli
in Paoli.
