Description

You have seen it on TV now experience complete off the grid cabin living. The Cabin is powered by solar & wind and uses a filtered rain water collection system (Please read "the space" before renting) All the comforts of home but completely off the grid. Close to French Lick & Paoli, minutes away from hiking, golf, canoeing, cave exploring ,Skiing & more. Cabin is equipped with shower, toilet, coffee maker, microwave, counter top oven, cook top refrigerator & two AC units. Dog friendly.

The space

The cabin is 100% off the grid. no cell service, no wifi, no tv. You should bring in drinking water. the water on tap should be used for cleaning and bathing only. On 5 acres very peaceful. Water- There is a filtered rain water collection system with 300 gallon tanks that should be used for cleaning and bathing only .. Keep showers to a minimum , hot water heater is powered by excess solar power... Power - You have 3000 watts of solar and 600 watts of wind power .. You should to be conscious how much power you use especially on cloudy, rainy or snowy days,(unless you rent our generator) Appliances should only be used one or two at a time depending on appliance.. You are living 100% off the Grid and it is dependent on mother nature if there is no rain or below freezing temps you may not have any water. if it’s cloudy you may have limited power. AC units are designed to work during the day and may or may not work all night without a generator(upstairs ac unit is on the backup system and has worked through the night). Please note you are renting the cabin as is , no guarantees of any kind . Cabin is still a work in progress, livable but not 100% finished (See pictures). There are 3 Queen size beds, Two in the lofts and one in the bedroom and one full size futon ..There is a charcoal and gas grill available you supply the charcoal) Please contact me with any questions before renting. Cabin is Dog friendly however while outside they must be kept on a lead.

You have the whole cabin. There are 2 separate sleeping lofts each with a queen size mattress and a bedroom. Please note that the ceiling is still not complete

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CABIN IS NOT 100% COMPLETED COSMETICALLY. ALL THE AMENITIES ARE IN WORKING ORDER BUT THERE STILL MAY BE WORK NEEDED INSIDE THE CABIN.. Please read "the Space" Your are 10 minutes from Marengo Cave a US National landmark. 20 minutes from Cave Country Canoes one of the largest canoeing operators in Indiana 10 minutes from Lucas Oil Golf Course 10 minutes from Paoli Ski Area 30 miles from Holiday World , 20 minutes from French Lick. 15 minutes from the East side of Patoka Lake . 30 minutes from Blue Spring Caverns. 700 hundred acres of Undeveloped Hoosier National Forest across the street( ask for access points please do not cut though private property) hiking trails just a short drive away .Firewood is available for $5.00 per bundle. talk to owner during check in.
