On January 17, 2026At French Lick West Baden Museum Categories: Family & Education, Family Friendly, ArtComing January 17, 2026! We are thrilled to announce our brand-new limited-time exhibition celebrating the remarkable works of West Baden artist Lois A. Doane, right here at the French Lick West Baden Museum! Lois Arria Doane (1894-1989) was a genuinely unique creator, working from her parents’ former boarding house and transforming whatever materials she had on hand into art. From statues to paintings on wood, cardboard, and other found surfaces, she used oils, watercolors, chalk, and even crayons to capture everyday life, candid scenes of those around her, and the colorful ideas from her imagination. Fondly remembered in our community, her artwork remains a reflection of her life and creativity in the Springs Valley.
